ATLANTA — Karen Kingston, CME/H, CMP, B. Braun Medical, Inc., Bethlehem, Pa., was named President of the Healthcare Convention & Exhibitors Association (HCEA) for 2010-2011. Kingston was officially installed as HCEA President during the 2010 HCEA Annual Meeting in New Orleans, June 26-29.
Kingston has worked for B. Braun Medical, Inc. for 30 years, and has been responsible for managing healthcare convention participation for a variety of the company’s medical device divisions. In addition, Karen is responsible for planning company sales meetings and special events.
During her acceptance speech at the HCEA Annual Meeting, Kingston discussed the organization’s new strategic plan, to be implemented during her presidency: “To continue to grow within this ever-changing environment and provide you with the most comprehensive and up-to-date resources, the HCEA strategic plan had to change to address the current and future expectations of our industry. We realize that change happens and will continue to happen, and it is HCEA’s responsibility and promise to help you adapt to those changes.”
Kingston has been a member of HCEA since 1992 and has served on the HCEA Board of Directors since 2001. Kingston served as HCEA President-Elect during 2009-2010, and has also served as Chair of the Information Resource Committee.
HCEA is the only association solely dedicated to improving the effectiveness of all conventions, meetings and exhibitions for the healthcare industry. HCEA represents organizations involved in healthcare exhibitions and conventions.
