How do I submit a story or idea?
You may type your story in any text editor and send it to our news staff at epbjnews@epbj.com. Keep in mind that our staff uses Apple Computers running OS X. We ARE able to accept documents formatted in the following:
- Microsoft Word
- Appleworks
- Plain Text
- RTF (Rich Text Format)
- Email (via copy and paste)
And of course.... Postal Mail to street address listed to your right.
How do I submit a photo?
Submit your photos for publication using JPEG format. This is a universal image format that employs compression to reduce file sizes, but not quality. Please use the following guidelines for submitting your photos.
- File size (inches) should be NO LARGER than 8 x 10.
- DPI should be NO MORE than 200 dpi.
- For Color files, the color space should be CMYK (using web uncoated color settings), for black and white, use greyscale.
- Save your photos as .jpg with medium compression.
You may attach photos to email, mail a CD to our office or call for our FTP server address and login info.
How do I submit advertising material?
Submit your advertisements in two ways, PDF for print or Quark Xpress 6.5. When submitting your advertisement, be sure to contact your sales representative to get the proper size. If our production department needs to resize or "fix" your ad, quality will be sacrificed. When submitting ads keep the following in mind:
- File size (inches) should be EXACTLY what the ad is to be in the printed edition.
- If at all possible, please send a PDF using "Print" settings (1200 dpi).
- For Color files, the color space should be CMYK (using web uncoated color settings), for black and white, use greyscale.
- If you are sending Quark Xpress files, be sure to include all fonts, art work and Xpress files.
- You may attach PDFs to a email, ftp them or send a cd via postal mail.
- When sending Quark files, you may only FTP or send a CD.
