Fulton repays TARP

LANCASTER, Pa., July 14, 2010 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Fulton Financial Corporation (Nasdaq:FULT) today announced that it has redeemed all 376,500 outstanding shares of Fulton's Fixed Rate Cumulative Perpetual Preferred Stock, Series A that it issued to the U. S. Treasury as part of the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP) in December of 2008. Fulton Financial paid $379,585,208 to the U.S.

Travel plaza funded

POTTSVILLE - July 12, 2010 - The Business in Our Sites Program administered by the Commonwealth Financing Authority recently awarded a $134,750 state grant to the Schuylkill Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO) for engineering and design work on a travel plaza to be located just off Exit 119 of Interstate 81 at the Highridge Business Park.

Air Products to build solar farm at headquarters

LEHIGH VALLEY, Pa. (July 8, 2010) – Air Products (NYSE:APD) will build a 12-acre solar farm at its corporate headquarters in Allentown, Pa., capable of generating 1.5 MW of electricity. The 1.5MW is enough to serve the energy needs of nearly half of Air Products’ administration buildings. The project is expected to begin construction this fall and be onstream in the spring of 2011.

Schuylkill Valley founder retires after 39 years

Schuylkill Valley Sports said that Randy Ruch, founder, CEO and Chairman of the Board, retired July 1, 2010 after thirty-nine years in the sporting goods industry. Ruch opened his first store in Audubon, PA in August 1971. The company now operates eighteen stores in Eastern Pennsylvania with two additional stores to open by the middle of next year.
